North Bank of the Water Hole
Each side of the waterhole is marked by different creatures, but no marking is more prominent than the river that cuts the small lake in two on a northwest-southeast diagonal. Both territories, lion and hyena, circle around the waterhole and claim ownership of this sacred source. From the north bank, Mnara stretches north, east, and south, bordered only on the north by the great rift in the earth. Uchawi, meanwhile, arcs north, west, and south, corralled in the south by a seemingly endless ocean of desert sand. The banks themselves are smooth with mud close to the waterline, while some of the higher, rougher edges are tufted with sharp grass stalks.
