To the south and west, short grasslands spread out and away from the more central pride lands. While the rich grasslands to the north are lush and filled with life, the savanna is rougher with shorter vegetation and large patches of wide open land with very few hiding places. The loneliness here is oppressive, and with no definitive land markings it is easy to get lost. A shadow on the northern horizon teeters slightly, but at this distance it is impossible to tell what is creating it. The only definitive sighting is to the south-southwest, where the river cuts a strong path through the earth on its course elsewhere.
