I posted over at the gorge, and then the thought occurred to me: are lyrics acceptable? I didn't even think about it at first, since I used to intertwine song lyrics into my post at the old Mnara, but... well.. that was the old Mnara, and obviously this one has different admin. So, just to clarify, is it acceptable to integrate song lyrics (or poetry, I suppose?) into a post to enhance the character of the post? I mean, obviously a post shouldn't be, for example, someone listing out the entire lyrics to a song and ending it with a paragraph of, "So-and-so crosses the savanna, blah blah blah." I'm not talking about space-fillers here. For that matter, I don't even know if I'm getting my point across. But I would love some clarification on whether or not it's okay to include them. I wouldn't want to be unnecessarily bugging the admin by doing so.

I don't think they'd bother me any, so long as (as you said) they aren't used just to make a post look big and long and wordy when there's hardly anything to the actual RP part of the post itself. So long as there is a decent amount of content to balance out the use of lyrics, I'm cool with 'em.

Lyrics and poetry are perfectly acceptable. I used to incorporate lyrics into all of my descriptions. Again, as long as they're used to enhance your ideas, not as space filler (and I know you wouldn't do that, anyway XD)

I put lyrics in my signature. Guess where they're from and win an interwebs cookie.
edit: what about stuff from plays? Kunto is all over Shakespeare.
