At a few player requests, I've been asked to put together some character traits for the available Mnara FCs. Hopefully this will allow for people to be able to apply for a character concept (rather than just a name an lineage) and help Mnara grow in our first stage of development. These are just very rough concept ideas so if any of them interests you please feel free to take the idea and run with it in your application. Also, if you like a concept but not necessarily the name, feel free to apply for that character slot and let me know if you're replacing the name. If it's acceptable, I will edit the generations.
Characters, onward!
Mnara:
King Ikenna: Eldest of Sizwe's litter with the late Queen Sauda. Sizwe never chose an heir during his reign and was killed in the fall of Pride Rock shortly after his beautiful mate and Queen Sauda died. Ikenna was never picked by his father to take his place, but from the first the boy showed the traits of strength and leadership that his father displayed, though like any young male cub he had his moments of brashness. Even as an adult he is quick to act and make decisions, but he is not necessarily rash in doing so.
King Nnamdi: Second born to one of Sizwe's last litter's before his death, with only two surviving cubs from that litter. Nnamdi has become a voice of patience and reason opposite his half-brother. He rallied those still living with Ikenna and helped everyone to safety, and it was at his suggestion that they take up their father's reign together.
Queen Nakato: Both Nakato and her sister Akosua have weak traces of Mnara's bloodline in them. They are daughters of Kibwe (son of Msomeshaji) and Ekene (daughter of Kovu and Noshipo, an unrelated outlander lioness), and were there when Sizwe and his pride took over. As such they are both seasons older than their Kings and are well versed in the workings of their pride sisters and the necessity of the hunt. They are inseparable. Nakato is quiet and demure, but she has a quick wit and a sharp tongue.
Queen Akosua: Fiercely loyal to her sister, Akosua is a task maker. She knows where her pride sisters and their cubs are at all times, as is constantly on the look out for idle paws that could stand to learn a thing or two about hunting and things of that sort. Except, of course, during the afternoon siesta.
Heir Jelane (juvenile): Jelane doesn't stand out much from his siblings in the way of personality traits, though he does tend to be the leader of mischief, but rather he was named heir because of his uncanny resemblance to the late Sizwe. It will be up to the pride as a whole, and his parents, to see if their partiality to the cub will prove to be a blessing or a curse.
Princess Nia (juvenile): She is quite smart but she is a princess if there ever was one. If there is mud involved, she's there to supervise, and will be the first one to run back crying if the adventure doesn't go well. Her mother seems to feel that as awkward as she is now, she has the makings to be a very beautiful princess indeed.
Lionesses:
Adjoa: Sizwe's daughter with Tendai (daughter of Jumaane). She is still upset at the loss of both her parents in the fall of Pride Rock but she prefers to take care of the cubs and puts her energy into happier things.
Onyeka: Sizwe's daughter with Kato. Always able to see the bright side of a rain cloud, Onyeka is very rarely unhappy. She helps to pass the long hours in the lazy afternoon by spinning stories, either true, make-believe, or truths turned into moral lessons for the youngsters (and the adults, too).
Zuri: Emeka's daughter with Yejide. One of the few highly skilled huntresses who takes great pride in her ability to read the hunt. A failed hunt is a bitter disappointment.
Lerato: Emeka's daughter with Awiti. At times she is a bit of a loner, hanging out around the edges of the pride, and she much prefers the duty of patrol or scouting than she does hunting or caring for the cubs. Her detest for hyenas knows no bounds.
Kirabo: Emeka's daughter with Awiti. She is often seen with her father, tending to the elder male and making sure that he is getting enough to eat... after the cubs, of course. Even she knows how to ensure Mnara's real survival. Kirabo is blunt and not afraid to speak her mind, even in the face of her elders and superiors, but she is an exceptional huntress.
Lions:
Emeka (elder): Sizwe's brother. Helped in the take over against Kovu. Devastated by the death of his brother and Queen's, but he stayed to offer his nephews advice where he can though he knows his age may become a burden to them eventually.
Obi: Son to Sizwe and Kata. Offered to stay until Mnara has settled, though perhaps this younger and less seasoned male is just really afraid to leave.
Uchawi:
Dominant Female Dumisani: Quick, sharp, and a temper to match. She came to Uchawi during Thema's conquest and very quickly muscled her way to the top and she is not about to give that position up. Not without a lot of blood spilled in the process. She is greedy, and heavily pregnant she looks to Mnara's lands to satiate her hunger.
Dominant Male Adwoa: Strong, brute, and dumb. Just like a male should be. He answers only to Dumisani and when she says bark, he asks how loud. In Uchawi's matriarchal society he has no sway over the female guards, and so it is his male charges that earn his ire over kills and position.
Female Guards:
Abena: Sister to Zuberi, daughter to Thema and Udo. She detests Dumisani and Adwoa and is constantly shirking her duties. She is not serious about a take over, however, as she lacks the cunning to do so.
Nyarau: The closest thing to an omega that hyenas know. Last of all the females to eat and even then she has to viciously fight off the males. She is the smallest of all the females and is often the brunt of their jokes and anger.
Thema: Wise but unable to keep her position against Dumisani. Instead of fighting to the death she submitted to a stronger creature. She has stayed to keep her belly full though she is getting older by the day. Her wisdom, though, is often regarded as valuable but Dumisani would not be caught dead consulting her. Caught, that is.
Zuberi: Sister to Abena, daughter to Thema and Udo. Ambitious to a fault and not afraid to show her strength and intention to take Dumisani's spot when she is not looking.
Male Guards:
Jelani: Brother to Bambidele. Both muscled across the savanna by Thema's take over of the south lands. Jelani is bitter and jealous, though he doesn't begrudge the prospect of steady meals. He hates Adwoa with a passion.
Bambidele: Brother to Jelani. Both muscled across the savanna by Thema's take over of the south lands. Much more lighthearted than his brother, he is a wise-cracking ass-hole. 'Nuff said.
Pups:
Chi (adolescent): The runt. Small, wiry, and a male to boot. He teams up with his bigger brother Kgosi and is often at odds with his sisters. He doesn't want to grow up under their paws but doesn't know how to get out from under them.
Idowu (adolescent): Like Amara, she is a stuck up brat with an over confident swagger. She's even confident enough to bully around the older Jelani and Bambidele.
Kgosi (adolescent): The other male of the litter. He's big and powerful and is tough to beat in a fight, but his sister's often use mental games to confuse their slower brother and keep him down. He finds comfort in Chi just as the smaller male finds protection in him.
Atieno (adolescent): The third female of the litter. While the other two are snooty, Atieno is down right mean, even to her sisters. She is well on her way to dominance if she can live long enough and beat out the older females for the title.
